Javiera da Fonseca Ilić (Santiago de Chile, 1982), approaches painting as a practice of memory and evocation. Through landscapes inspired by her travels, dreams, and inner visions, she constructs a universe of color, energy, and vibration that unfolds beyond ordinary perception.

Scenarios that resonate deeply with the artist are initially documented through photography and subsequently transformed in the studio into atmospheric, emotive compositions. Her work engages viewers in a reflection on ancestral memory and imagined futures.

Painting operates at the intersection of craft and contemplation, away of assembling fragments into meaning. Her practice navigates an intimate dialogue with nature, architecture, and the human experience, creating canvases that merge external landscapes with interior worlds.

Born in Chile and based in Mexico for over eleven years, Javiera has found in this territory both freedom and inspiration. It is here that she continues to cultivate a body of work defined by a signature visual language.

Javiera began her art education at Universidad de Chile (2001-2005), where she graduated in Visual Arts with a specialization in painting. She furthered her studies in art appreciation under renowned Chilean artist Eugenio Dittborn (2008-2009).

Her work has been exhibited at galleries and art fairs in Santiago, Mexico City, Vancouver, Toronto, New York, Miami and San Francisco, among others.
