The body of work presented in this exhibition engages with currents, of water, of energy, of atmosphere. It evokes climates that are at once suffocating and intoxicating, humid yet charged with vitality. The works embody a restrained elegance and spiritual minimalism, articulating with precision what demanded release: a sensation, an emotion, a sequence of gestures, a wash of diluted pigment, a contained cry.

Each piece reached its point of culmination in a state of intensification, a moment of boiling over, only to emerge liberated, evaporated, and expanded.

Curated by Polish-French artist Gwladys Alonzo, Aguas Latentes marked my third solo exhibition in Mexico City. Hosted by Galería Loot, located in the Roma district, the exhibition provided the opportunity to develop a series of large-scale works over the course of nearly a year. All pieces were produced in my studio in Tulum and later transported to Mexico City for the exhibition.
